PRESS RELEASE: Give the Gift of Art and Culture
Tuesday, 22 November 2011 14:42
JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, TREASURES OF ART AND CULTURE FROM THE CULTURAL ALLIANCE OF SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGANDETROIT, Nov. 22, 2011 – The Cultural Alliance of Southeastern Michigan invites gift givers this holiday season to consider choosing from among the extraordinary offerings of 61 not-for-profit arts and cultural institutions.
Called “Give the Gift of Art and Culture,” the Cultural Alliance program includes tickets to performances and special events, unique gift ideas, and special membership programs – all provided at a special holiday pricing. The program offers holiday shoppers selections from three categories of cultural and artistic treasures: “
Things to Do,” “
Unique Gifts” and “
Give the Gifts of Membership.”
“The gifts of art and culture represent the finest treasures in the world,” Maud Lyon, executive director of the Cultural Alliance of Southeastern Michigan, said. “What we experience at a live event or through membership at a museum, as with a unique work of art or a special book, change our inner world. They become our inspiration, what we use to change the world ourselves.”
Events take place from Nov. 25, 2011 through Dec. 31, 2012. “Things to Do” includes live performances, special exhibits and events. “Unique Gifts” describe works of fine art and other special offers. “Give the Gifts of Membership” includes special promotions for individual and family memberships to institutions. For instance, a theater may offer a Season Subscription, a museum may offer a Family Membership, and an art center may encourage shopping at their Gift Shop with a discount.
