Financial management is a key competency. Yet many organizations, especially smaller ones, get by with part time accountants and volunteer treasurers. How do you get the expertise you really need? That is why the Cultural alliance is creating Financial Services – a combination of educational services and support designed to meet the needs of arts and culture nonprofits. Jane Linn will show you the services we will offer, and how your organization can start to benefit now.
Success in our sector is also market-driven. Is there art without an audience? Who wants what we offer? Mapping the Cultural Landscape, the report of our Cultural Census research project, addresses that question. We looked at recent attendance trends and researched likely cultural participants. We also explored the relationships our sector has with other parts of our communities – churches, schools, small businesses, other nonprofit sectors and more. It’s given us food for thought that will help to shape what our sector offers, and who we partner with, to reach the audiences we seek to serve. If you cannot make the meeting on October 5, read the presentation on our website. It will give you much to think about.
